Invictus Gaming continue to climb in the China DPC League
The second week of matches in the six week long Dota Pro Circuit regional leagues is done and dusted for the China bracket.
Invictus Gaming seem to be the big winners of this second round of matches as they finish the week with another victory in the bag to consolidate their third spot on the ladder. After the rather surprising victory over Elephant in week one, iG reverse-swept EHOME to keep the winning streak going. In today’s battle they evened the series with a spotless Morphling performance from Jin “flyfly” Zhiyi after they got completely overwhelmed in game one by a Phantom Lancer draft coming from EHOME.
The decider game featured two powerful objective oriented drafts. EHOME were looking to press the issue with a core Nature’s Prophet and secure the big crit hits in fights with a Templar Assassin, but iG’s resilience and ability to dodge the enemy under the Mirana Moonlight Shadow messed up their plan. Additionally, they’ve managed to set the tempo of the game with Wraith King and push on their terms with Shadow Shaman.
Undefeated in series, but with a 4-2 overall game score, as they dropped one game to Elephant and one to EHOME, iG finished the second week of DPC China League on the third spot. Right behind them are PSG.LGD, who have one extra series played, but who have a defeat under their name from week one. They closed the second week with a swift 2-0 victory over MagMa and will look forward to what could be the most anticipated match-up of this DPC Regional Leagues season.
PSG.LGD will be pitted on the 7th of February against their former players, who are now fighting in the Elephant jerseys. Besides being a grudge match-up, Elephants are in dire need of victories, as so far they’ve only managed to win one battle and sit on the sixth spot on the leaderboard.
