Virtus.pro set on signing AVANGAR lineup

Virtus.pro is looking to make a major move in the Counter-Strike scene. The legendary esports organization is looking to acquire the AVANGAR roster according to a report from DBLTAP.

It’s in the “final stages” the report states. Virtus.pro has been the home of Polish Counter-Strike for years and it is currently unknown what will become of the Polish lineup currently employed by the organization should this move go through.

It is worth noting that Virtus.pro hasn’t always been Polish, however, and fielded a CIS roster and current AVANGAR player Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev in its debut CS:GO roster.

The struggles of Virtus.pro have been plentiful over the last two years as they have been unable to grab consistent wins against even tier two competition. The once legendary roster of Filip “NEO” Kubski, Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas, Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski, Jarosław “pashaBiceps” Jarząbkowski, and Paweł “byali” Bieliński gave us the last glimpse of a dominant Virtus.pro before they fell from their perch near the top of the scene and fell apart.

The AVANGAR lineup, on the other hand, made a name for itself with a big 2019 including a runner-up finish at the StarLadder Berlin Major. Outside of the Major, the squad took home trophies at DreamHack Open Rio de Janeiro and BLAST Pro Series: Moscow.
