6 Things To Do After Beating Shin Megami Tensei 5
Shin Megami Tensei 5 has you take on the role of a high-schooler who stumbles upon a post-apocalyptic Tokyo known as Da'at, eventually linking up with a powerful being, allowing you to change the outcome of the world's fate. There's much to see and do in Shin Megami Tensei 5, and it can take quite a while to see everything the game offers.
Even after rolling credits, you will have many options to choose from, with new content, seeing all the different endings, and much more. However, some post-game options may not be clear to you at first, making things a bit confusing or even frustrating.
New Game Plus
Once you clear your first playthrough in Shin Megami Tensei 5, you will unlock the option to start a New Game Plus (NG+), allowing you to start the game over from the beginning.
Unlike most games, however, there are two options for NG+ that will directly affect what you keep and what you lose when resetting to the start of the game. One is viewed as a bit more challenging, while the other will make things a lot easier.
The Newborn NG+ option allows you to carry over your entire Demonic Compendium up to the last boss fight of the game. Choosing this option will carry over the Demon's affinities, attributes, and stats. It will also change the difficulty, but it won't be too unbearable. Picking the Newborn NG+ will wipe everything kept in the Reborn NG+ option (found below).
The Reborn NG+ option, however, allows you to carry over the main character's skills, level, obtained Demons, Macca, and items. While all of your Demons will lose their stats, you will get to start from the beginning of the game with end-game stats, making everything overall easier to progress through. Like the Newborn NG+ option, picking the Reborn NG+ will wipe everything kept in the Newborn NG+ option (found above).
Obtaining every Miracle available in Shin Megami Tensei 5 requires clearing the game multiple times, with some being rewarded to you the first time you begin NG+ after your initial clear.
These four additional Miracles are pretty potent and will be excellent for tackling some of the challenges that can arise in NG+, especially if you bump up the difficulty. You can find all post-game Miracles in the table below.
|Miracle Name||Miracle Effect||How To Obtain|
|Divine Eminence||Allows you to negotiate with Demons above your level.||Complete the game with any ending.|
|Divine Persuasion||Enemy Demons have a chance of joining you mid-battle.||Complete the game with any ending.|
|Inheritance Violation||Allows you to change a Demon's initial skills in the course of Demon Fusions.||Complete the game and carry out the Uphold God's Order ending.|
|Rank Violation||Eliminates the level limit on Demon Fusions.||Complete the game and carry out the Recreate the World and Save Tokyo ending.|
Subquests are a significant part of Shin Megami Tensei 5 and offer a wide range of things that can give you the edge in combat. And, fortunately, you only get more of them upon clearing the game for the first time.
You can unlock and carry out five new Subquests in the post-game, but each of them requires you to get specific endings and reach certain requirements before you can complete them. You can find the complete list of additional Subquests in the chart below, along with a short guide on how to finish them and their rewards.
|Subquest Name||Quest Walkthrough||Reward|
|The Compassionate Queen||

Like the additional Miracles and Subquests, you will also obtain new Demons when clearing the game for the first time and carrying out specific endings. To get every Demon in Shin Megami Tensei 5, you will have to enter NG+ and beat the game multiple times.
With that said, the post-game Demons are some of the best in the game, so your efforts are rewarded. You can obtain ten Demons by either accessing NG+ or getting certain endings, and you can find the complete list of them in the table below. Please note that if a mission is required to obtain the Demon, it will be in the table above!
