A Monster-Slaying Witcher Mobile Game Is Set To Launch This Summer
For anyone who has ever wanted to step into the shoes of Geralt of Rivia, they can soon make such fantasies a reality thanks to CD Projekt’s latest mobile game. The studio has announced that its upcoming AR game, The Witcher: Monster Slayer, is set to be unleashed this summer.
The Witcher: Monster Slayer allows players to take on monsters in the real world with their mobile devices through the use of AR technology. You will track, study, and even slay said creatures in our own world – which is sure to have a bunch of novel appeal.

Once the hunt is done, players can keep monsters as trophies just like Geralt has done throughout The Witcher franchise. It will also feature story quests that take inspiration from the main series. The real-world day and night cycle will factor into the experience as weather conditions change as you play, introducing new visual and gameplay variables.
Players can pre-register for the free-to-play game ahead of its soft launch and gain early access to Monster Slayer. Towards the end of April, a limited amount of players will be given access to an early version of the game on Google Play.
Publisher Spokko will be in charge of launching the game under the CD Projekt umbrella, which has tested the game in several countries so it’ll be a matter of time before we can see it come here to the West. It should appeal to those who are fans of the franchise as well as those who enjoy the fantasy genre.
Revealed by CD Projekt (via IGN), The Witcher: Monster Slayer will be ready for launch during the summer season. Last year, we were shown a trailer displaying some gameplay for the mobile game. The upcoming title will take place long before Geralt’s time as players take on the task of becoming elite monster hunters.
You’ll be training your character as well as crafting weapons, equipment, and potions for the hunts that lie ahead. Through the use of AR, players can freely explore around their neck of the woods encountering fantastical beasts with some RPG-style combat.
