Call Of Duty 2020 alpha leak hints at zombies in Warzone
Yet another new leak for this year’s Call Of Duty suggests that zombies are coming to both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.
The problem with postponing announcements is that all the online material publishers and retailers were getting ready for it is suddenly left up for days, and liable to be found by curious fans.
That’s what seems to have happened with this year’s Call Of Duty, which would probably have been announced by now if things had gone to plan but which instead has been subject to numerous leaks.
This one is related to the earlier leak of a logo for the game, which identifies it as Call Of Duty: Black Ops, rather than the previously rumoured Black Ops: Cold War. But it also unveils some interesting info from the game’s alpha, which is already on PSN.
That probably means the alpha was meant to go live soon after the game was announced but it’s still sitting there online, under the fake name of The Red Door.
By datamining the files, fans have discovered what seem to be references to a Zombies mode in the game, which isn’t too surprising, but also zombies in Warzone – which is.
This is all based on interpreting codewords and acronyms, so it could be wrong, but website Modern Warzone goes into some detail on how the theory works.
Warzone being a part of all future Call Of Duty games has already been confirmed by Activision but these leaks seem to suggest two separate modes: one for plain vanilla Warzone and the other for a new undead-filled version.
There’s still no clue as to when the new Call Of Duty will be officially announced but it’ll probably be soon after the start of Season 4 of Warzone, which was indefinitely postponed due to the anti-racism protests.
