We don’t know what will be included in next month’s PS Plus free games list, but subscribers are having a good guess.

And based on a recent leak, one remastered title has been linked to PlayStation Plus in October.

This would be Alan Wake Remastered, with several retail listings appearing in recent weeks suggesting that the game will be launching on October 5 for PS4 and PS5.

The original Alan Wake launched back in 2010 and proved a cult hit among fans on Xbox platforms.

And the description of Alan Wake hints at its thriller roots, revealing: “When the wife of the best-selling writer Alan Wake disappears on their vacation, his search turns up pages from a thriller he doesn’t even remember writing. A dark presence stalks the small town of Bright Falls, pushing Wake to the brink of sanity in his fight to unravel the mystery and save his love.

“With the body of an action game and the mind of a psychological thriller, Alan Wake is a pulse-pounding thrill ride.”

And the big news here that connects Alan Wake Remastered to PS Plus October 2021, is the retail listing.

Several have reportedly linked Alan Wake as arriving on October 5, 2021, the same day that the next PS Plus games will be released.

This is far from being concrete information and could well be proven completely false by the time Sony announces its plans.

Sony has already launched several games as day one download on PlayStation Plus, and this would make another find addition to the subscription service.

And while there is a good chance this rumour could be proven false in the future, fans are happy to discuss it for now.

One gamer on Reddit commented: “At first I thought no way but the more I think about it, the more it seems plausible. Remedy wants the “Remedy Connected Universe” to take off in a big way so they’ll want both Epic and Sony to push this game hard and get it into as many hands as possible.

Another adds: “Yep, it’s a 30$ game so it’s not that crazy seeing it on PS Plus day one, I think it’ll be similar to the Mafia II remaster last year (which was also priced 30$). And like you said, they want to do a Universe so attracting players with a decent remaster would be good.

“Maybe it’ll also come to game pass sometime later, and in 2-3 years when the next Control or similar game drops gift it on EGS. The point of this remaster is attracting new players to the RCU, but not spending a lot of money on production.”

Others are not sure, with one gamer pointing out: “You know, Bus Simulator 21 came out on 7th of September and also the same date as PS Plus games, but it didn’t.

“So please sit down and relax, clean your backlogs or play this month’s games, and wait until they officially announce next month’s games.

“Don’t get your hopes up, as you might get more disappointed by all those rumours, just like last year with the Dark Souls remastered and Dying Light.”
