Fortnite Season 4 release time, date, downtime, Battle Pass, trailer and more
Fortnite fans are counting down to the start of Chapter 4, Season 4 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Android. Titled ‘Last Resort’, Fortnite Season 4 has an August 25 release date and a 8am BST UK launch time. Needless to say, update 26.00 launches alongside a large patch, as well as a lengthy period of server downtime, beginning when matchmaking is disabled at around 7.30am BST.
Epic explains more: “It’s time to get even. Are you in?
“Downtime for v26.00 begins at 3 am ET with matchmaking disabled shortly beforehand.”
According to a follow-up tweet, patch sizes for update 26.00 may be larger than normal, so you’ll want to download the update as soon as possible.
Fans have also been given a look at the new skins and points of interest coming to Fortnite in Season 4.
As you can see from the image at the top of the page (not to mention the video below), the new skins include Ahsoka Tano from Disney’s upcoming series of the same name.
According to Fortnite insider Shiina, the other skins are named Nolan Chance, Piper Pace, Fish Thicc, Mae, Antonia and Kado Thorne.
TikTok star Khaby Lame is also part of the Battle Pass, complete with his signature gesture.
As you can see from the image above, new points of interest include Sanguine Suites, Eclipsed Estate and Relentless Retreat.
Elsewhere, players will be able to use weapons such as the Infiltrator Pump Shotgun, the Twin Mag Assault Rifle, the Scoped Burst SMG, the Business Turret, the Rocket Ram, The Foundation’s MK-Seven Assault Rifle, Midas’ Drum Gun and Zyg and Choppy’s Ray Gun.
While we’ll need to wait for the gameplay trailer to see everything new coming to Fortnite, Epic has also confirmed that a new vehicle (the Nitro Fang car) will join the game.
With a Heist theme confirmed, there’s also speculation that Fortnite will have a Payday 3 crossover during the season. The Payday Twitter account recently interacted with the Fortnite account, so there’s certainly hope.
