Games with Gold April COUNTDOWN: New Deals ahead of Xbox free games release
New Deals with Gold games have been announced as fans wait for their new Xbox One free games from Microsoft.
For those that don’t know, Microsoft provide a weekly list of new gaming discounts for those with an active Xbox Live Gold subscription.
The deals will see a percentage dropped from the normal Microsoft Store price, with this week proving no different.
The current Deals with Gold discounts will be valid through to April 1 and will be replaced by a new selection soon after.
And there are some pretty interesting games included that might catch the eye of Xbox One owners.
Right now, Ubisoft’s new Trials Rising game can be picked up with 20% off, alongside another high-profile title.
The highlight of this week’s Xbox One discounts includes Soul Calibur 6 which only released last year.
Fans can grab a digital code for it right now for with 67% off, although fans can also grab a deal when they renew their Xbox Live Gold subscription.
Other deals currently available to Xbox Gold owners includes Grand Theft Auto V: Premium Online Edition, Farming Simulator 19 and Bridge Constructor Portal.
There are a ton of other games currently discounted, as well as a selection of Backwards Compatible Xbox 360 titles.
And if none of those options tickles your fancy, you can always wait for April’s free Games with Gold titles to drop.
New titles going live next week include The Technomancer and Star Wars Battlefront 2 from the original Xbox.
Both of these games will be available to download for free on April 1 and will be followed by a mid-monthly refresh.
April 16 will see the launch of Outcast: Second Contact on Xbox One and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 from Xbox 360.
Another reward from having an Xbox Live Gold account is getting to play free game trials each month.
Microsoft won’t be hosting any first-party titles but they are working with Bethesda to make it possible to play Elder Scrolls Online for free.
“Starting Thursday, March 28, and running until Wednesday, April 3, Xbox Live Gold members can play The Elder Scrolls Online free on Xbox One,” a new message from Microsoft explains.
“Because the Free Play Event includes access to the base game, this means you can check out the Elsweyr Prologue and begin the adventure that eventually takes you to the home of the Khajiit in The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr that’s available for pre-order today on the Microsoft Store.”
For those that have never used it before, Games with Gold is available to all Xbox Live Gold members and can be redeemed from the Gold widget on the Xbox One home screen.
When you select a game, it’ll be stored in your account and ready for download when you sign in to your console.
It should also be noted that new Games with Gold titles become available on the first and the sixteenth day of every month.
