Modern Warfare Xbox Beta: When does Call of Duty Xbox One beta start?

The latest Call of Duty Modern Warfare beta starts this week on PS4, and fans can play early if they pre-order the game or are lucky enough to get their hands on a code from various places online (including our giveaway – see below).

Players on other platforms, however, have to wait a bit longer before they'll be able to get their grubby little mitts on the game's online test.

To get early access to the Call of Duty Modern Warfare beta on September 12 – the earliest possible time you'll be able to play the game on any platform – PS4 players need to either make a digital pre-order of the game, or go and order the game physically in a store.

You can read more about that below.

Xbox One players, though, need to wait until September 19, sadly.

Any Xbox One and PC pre-order customers can get started in the beta from September 19, ahead of the activation of the open beta on those platforms on September 21.

So if you've got a pre-order, you'll be able to access the game next Thursday, 19 September.

Anyone on Xbox will be able to play the game from Saturday, September 21.

The beta client will be available to download from the Xbox Store, and if previous beta tests are anything to go by, we'll see an icon for the app on the dashboard, too.

What is the Modern Warfare beta going to contain?

"Expect an epic and ever-changing series of Maps, Playlists, and other content drops throughout the Beta Test Weekends, with surprises and a great deal of content to access," says a PlayStation blog update.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare will launch on October 25 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
