Persona 5, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and A Link to the Past for Switch listed by Best Buy
US retailer Best Buy has listed a Switch release of Persona 5, as well as Metroid Prime Trilogy and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, on its internal staff-only database, according to leaks on Twitter.
Photographs of computer screens displaying the database are the source of the leak, which were posted to Imgur by user Groo0731, and then spread across Twitter by Mystic, a translator specialising in Persona. The image was corroborated by Wario64, who has a long history of accurate video games scoops. Wario64 then went on to upload mobile screenshots from Best Buy’s system, which shows listings for Metroid Prime Trilogy and Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past.

This is a large leak, but one that should be approached with caution. Persona 5 coming to Switch has long been rumoured, and the teaser website for ‘P5S’ suggests that a Switch version of Atlus’ JRPG hit is not out of the question. More information will be revealed on April 25.

There’s much less to suggest that the Metroid Prime Trilogy and Zelda listings are based in truth. The database allegedly already includes a listing for Link’s Awakening, suggesting Best Buy has not confused Nintendo’s upcoming remake for A Link to the Past, but there are no announcements or rumours of another Zelda remake or remaster that we can point to.
It’s a similar story for Metroid Prime Trilogy, although the confirmed Metroid Prime 4 and its delayed development may give Nintendo cause to offer a remaster of the original trilogy to keep Metroid fans happy.
As with all these stories, it’s important to remember that leaks and rumours aren’t the full story. When it comes to retail listings, these are often put together by store employees who simply guess what may be on the horizon in order to create placeholders. However, often retailers are informed of unannounced games ahead of times, which was the case when Wal Mart listed Rage 2, Gears of War 5, and Just Cause 4 ahead of their announcements last year.
