PS Plus April free games news for PS4 and PlayStation Now update

PlayStation subscribers in April 2019 have a new choice of free PS4 games to download, and PS Now titles to stream.

We already know a lot about the new PS Plus game available via the Store, but you might not have heard about the recent PlayStation Now update.

The streaming service is another optional subscription fans can buy to have access to a library of titles from the PS2, PS3 and PS4.

And like PS Plus, Sony like to add new titles each month for fans to enjoy on PC and PlayStation 4.

10 new titles have been added, all of them either coming from the PS4 or PS2 eras.

The headliner of the bunch is Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, a title that was made available to download via PS Plus last year.

It’s joined by Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes, as well as another five games from the PS4.

These include Chronicles of Teddy: Harmony of Exidus, WRC 5 Fia World Rally Championship, Shadow Complex Remastered, Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom, and Grand Kingdom.

Here’s more from the latest announcement from Sony, which explains: “f you prefer your thrills intergalactic, then you’re spoilt for choice with a trio of PS2 Star Wars titles which are also available with April’s update.

“Play Jango Fett in third-person adventure Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, blast your way across the galaxy in Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter or roar across planets in Star Wars: Racer Revenge.

“These games and more join over 600 PS2, PS3 and PS4 titles in the ever-expanding PlayStation Now library.”

As mentioned above, there are plenty of different games to choose from in PS Now, however, it should be noted that it is a separate subscription to PS Plus.

The PlayStation Plus program provides access to certain multiplayer modes, PlayStation Store discounts and free games to download each month.

And it just so happens that the official lineup has just been updated for April 2019.

The good news is that fans can now download Conan Exiles and The Surge on PS4 via the subscription services.

The bad news is that the game’s from March – Modern Warfare Remastered and The Witness – have now gone and won’t be returning.

It should be noted that the content you have downloaded as part of your PlayStation Plus subscription at no charge is only accessible as long as you are an active subscriber.

The exceptions are free themes and avatars, which you will continue to have access to, even if you are no longer a subscriber.

Anything you have purchased (even if you bought it at a discount) will remain available to you even if your subscription ends.

Also, different countries have different rights, release schedules and, have different things available on their PlayStation Store for this reason.

So this is why you may hear about different games being available in Asia, Europe and North America when it comes to some PS Plus announcements.
