PS4 games shock: Hopes this long lost PlayStation exclusive is making a comeback
PS4 games news today includes shock rumours that a long lost PlayStation exclusive could be making a dramatic return.
The PS4 has been the best selling console of this generation, shifting over 100million units since launching back in 2013.
It is currently the sixth best selling console ever and looks on track to become, at the very least, the second best-selling PlayStation of all time.
Arguably, one of the biggest selling points of the PS4 is its huge and growing selection of exclusive games.
From God of War, to Uncharted 4, to Marvel’s Spider-Man, to Horizon Zero Dawn, to Persona 5, to Gran Turismo Sport – the list goes on and on.
And this list of PS4 games exclusives could soon be bolstered by the addition of a long lost title, if recent rumours turn out to be true.
Deep Down was one of the first games announced for the PS4, unveiled alongside the system prior to its launch back in 2013.
The Capcom developed title caught plenty of people’s attention with its gorgeous looking visuals and Dark Souls-esque gameplay.
After its debut in February 2013, Deep Down again featured during the Tokyo Game Show 2013 where it was announced it would be a free-to-play game.
It was thought Deep Down would launch in 2014, but since TGS 2013 news on the Capcom title has gone quiet.
In early 2015 it was announced that development of title has been extended but no more news about the title came from Capcom for years.
But then in June 2018 the trademark for Deep Down was extended, sparking speculation that the title could finally be getting a release.
And now more news has emerged which has left fans convinced that Deep Down could be set for a comeback.
Recently it has emerged that Capcom has filed a new trademark in Europe for a mysterious title called Shinsekai: Into the Depths.
This was later clarified, by those that know Japanese, to being titled New World: Into the Depths.
And the trademark has sparked speculation that the title in question could in fact be Deep Down, just under a different guise.
In a post on ResetEra one user wrote: “Deep Down is back, baby.”
Another posted: “Deep Down lives?!”
One added: “Deep Down reborn as a Monster Hunter World spin-off.”
And another wrote: “Capcom has been on such a roll lately, I hope it’s a new AAA game.”
ResetEra users have been left wondering whether this mysterious title could officially get unveiled during the Tokyo Game Show.
And fans don’t have long to wait for certain, with TGS 2019 set to be held between September 12 and September 15.
