PS4, Xbox free games alert – Get a taste for one 2019 best new game for free!

It may seem much longer ago than it was, but earlier this year we saw Square Enix (finally!) release Kingdom Hearts 3.

The game – the latest part of a long-running series that smushes all things Disney into all things Final Fantasy and beyond – released to rave reviews.

Our own Jordan Oloman gave it 4/5 stars, stating "This is a game that wants to delight you. It is unapologetically hopeful, like nothing I’ve ever played, offering a seemingly endless font of positivity that is difficult to ignore". High praise indeed!

If that has intrigued you, then good news – you can now play a little of Kingdom Hearts 3 for free!

If you've been intrigued by the game since it came out, but have held off on buying the game because you weren't sure if you were ready to commit, Square Enix has some good news for you.

Over the weekend, Square Enix is uploaded a playable demo available on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store .

In the newly launched Kingdom Hearts 3 demo, players can join the adventures of Sora, Goofy, and Donald, and play through two story sections – which is actually a pretty generous offer.

The first playable section is the Hercules-inspired Olympus level’s introduction, and the second story takes you to Toy Box – with all its charming Toy Story content.

If you're eager to try the much-loved (but often confusing!) RPG, you shouldn't have too long to wait.

The PlayStation store requires a download of 7.76GB and the Xbox One demo weighs in a little lighter at 7.42GB.

Any progress you make in the game will be transferred to the full game if you wish to buy it once the trial is over, and PlayStation players can pick up the game on sale via PSN right now, too.

It's worth a punt, right? There's no game demo quite like a free game demo.
