PS5 stock news this week includes a big update for those still trying to buy a PlayStation console.
Stock tracker accounts have kept console hunters up to date on when the next drop will be coming.
Retailers that have seen updates so far in August include Scan, Currys, Amazon UK and Argos.
And it looks like GAME UK will be the next retailer to offer a major shipment to gamers.
While this remains a prediction, it appears that GAME will be offering thousands of consoles to buy next week.
There’s a chance that these dates could change, but for now, it appears things could be kicking off on August 17.
This news was shared by the PS5 Stock UK tracker account on Twitter, who have a good track record of sharing drops before they happen.
The full message from PS5 Stock UK reads: “We’ve been informed that GAME’s expected restock this week has been moved forward to 17th August. The reason behind this is possibly due to shipment delays of the PlayStation 5 consoles.
“As we exclusively reported 4 days ago, GAME have updated their release date of #PS5 consoles to 27th August due to the shipment delay we mentioned. We expect GAME to go live with pre-orders 17th August (9-11:30am).”
PS5: Sony unveil pricing for PlayStation 5 console
Demand remains very high for PS5 consoles in 2021, with retailers unable to keep up with demand.
Next-gen stock usually sells out within hours of being released, leaving many still waiting to buy one.
So far, the company has confirmed selling 10 million units globally, hitting the milestone on July 18.
Knowing when a PS5 restock is happening can be vital, but it’s also worth knowing how each retailer handles its shipments.
And here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:
AMAZON UK: Amazon UK runs better under strain but still comes with a few kinks worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out. More stock is expected later in August.
ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and being unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the mobile Argos app and keeping an eye on local store listings.
GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. The next PS5 stock is expected around August 17.
