PSN DOWN: Server Status for PlayStation Network which stops working for PS4 gamers

UK PS4 gamers are facing a frustrating evening as the PSN PlayStation Network appears to be down, or at the very least suffering from major issues.

The popular service seemed to hit trouble in the last half hour and Independent outage website Down Detector has seen a spike in reports that PSN is not working properly across the UK and especially Europe.

The outage tracker monitors social mentions around certain topics to detect outages across the world.

And Sony’s own Network Status Page is also showing services as being disrupted. A quick look at the page is showing that all services are impacted.

This includes anything related to Account Management, Gaming And Social, PlayStation Now, PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store and PlayStation Music.

The only advice offered by the page is the following message:

“You may have some difficulty accessing PlayStation content. Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience.”

At the same time Fortnite Servers also appear to be down for players across the board, something which the official Fortnite Twitter account has only recently acknowledged in the last 5 minutes, tweeting the following message to fans:

We are currently experiencing matchmaking issues across all modes. We are investigating and will keep you updated once the issue is resolved.”

The PlayStation support account on Twitter, AskPS_UK, has also addressed this, telling one fan:

“Epic Games run the online services for Fortnite however we are currently having a few issues as you can see here”

So as you can see there are a variety of server issues ongoing across multiple services.

This is a breaking story – stand by for more details.
