Resident Evil 8: Village Confirmed At PS5 Reveal Event

Capcom confirmed rumors of a new Resident Evil game during Sony’s PS5 games event today. Resident Evil 8: Village is coming to the PS5 in 2021. The game is set in a–you guessed it–village, though we also saw several other locations, including a forest, castle, and some nearby dilapidated houses. It’s confirmed that Resident Evil 7 protagonist, Ethan, is back as well as that game’s first-person perspective.

The Resident Evil 8: Village trailer also gave us a look at some of the characters and monsters expected, including a werewolf-looking creature and what appears to be a witch. Resident Evil icon Chris Redfield also appeared, though it seems like he won’t be playing the hero this time around.

The previous two Resident Evil games were Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remake titles, both in third-person. Prior to this, Resident Evil 7 released and shifted the series to a first-person perspective.

This story is developing.
