Scorn Set To Launch October 21
Scorn, the H.R. Giger-inspired horror shooter, finally has a release date of October 21.
Alongside the announcement of a release date, we also got a brand new look at the game. As we've seen in previous trailers, there's a lot of squelchy bloody horror gameplay through a first-person lens. We get to see a bit more of the game's combat, as well as some more exploration.
The official description for the new Scorn trailer gives a bit more background on the game, "Explore a mesmerizing labyrinth this Halloween! Scorn will release on 21st October 2021. You awaken in the middle of a desolate and decayed hellscape; a once industrious civilization now lay in ruin. Surrounded by nightmarish, biomechanical contraptions, you must explore your environment to progress. Your nightmare is about to begin".
As is the case with many of the games announced during the Xbox and Bethesda showcase, Scorn will be available to play on Xbox Game Pass from day one.
Unfortunately, Scorn getting a release date might not be the surprise that the developers intended. Earlier today, a post on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit contained data from the SteamDB page for the game, revealing its release date of October 21 just hours before the Xbox and Bethesda showcase.
Some of the other details revealed in the SteamDB leak include a few pieces of art showing off what the main character looks like, as well as the game's key art. It also contained a new screenshot showing off some kind of sleeping alien, and an image of the outside of a large fortress.
