Stardew Valley: A Guide to Becoming Roommates with Krobus
Krobus was the last “marriage” candidate added to Stardew Valley and is the strangest one so far. Krobus doesn’t technically marry the player, but he does move in with them and somewhat acts as a spouse would. He only has two heart events, neither of which will play a part in him moving in, and players will need to get a special item in order to ask him to move out of the sewers.
He is a great choice for players who want a more unique route, but it will take a bit of work to get him to move into your home. Below is a complete guide to making Krobus your roommate.
Krobus does not go to the doctor, go to festivals, or even go to the market in winter. He doesn’t have a schedule like other candidates and can always be found in the exact same place in the sewers. He will be standing in the same spot regardless of what’s going on that day, the weather, or the time.
His birthday is on Winter 1, and he will give bonus points to players who give him a gift on this day.
To gain access to Krobus, players will need to get the Rusty Key from the museum. This will take quite a bit of time, as 60 items will need to be donated to the museum to get the reward. The fastest way to do this is by donating the first of each new stone you find and constantly processing geodes. Digging up worm spots for artifacts can also help to speed up this process.

Moving in With Krobus
To move in with Krobus, you will need to get a Void Ghost Pendant which is dropped by monsters in Skull Cavern or can be bought from the Desert Trader for 200 Void Essence. Presenting this to Krobus will have Krobus move in with you and add his own room to your Farmhouse. He will place a chest that sells goods in the Sewers.
Krobus will only hug you (spouses will kiss you), he doesn’t sleep in your bed, and he won’t do chores. He can change your flooring and wallpaper, though, and his divorce price is 0g. It’s also worth noting that you can’t have or adopt children with Krobus.
