Stranger Of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin Is 71 GB On PS5, New Leak Reveals
Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is currently on track to launch this March, and thanks to a new leak, we recently learned the upcoming title is a hefty 71GB download on PlayStation 5.
The information came from the PlayStation Game Size account on Twitter, which keeps track of game files directly added to the PS database. According to its findings, Final Fantasy Origin will need at least 71.5GB of free storage to download and install. Keep in mind this doesn't include the expected day one patch for the game, comprising all the latest fixes for a stable experience, so you probably have to prepare even more space.
The account reveals Stranger of Paradise's pre-load on PS5 will start on March 13 — that's two days prior to the game's three-day early access period, starting on March 15 only for those who pre-order the title. Everyone else on the console will get their access to the full version on March 18.
We don't know how big Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will end up on other platforms – Square Enix's new title launches across both generations of Xbox and PlayStation devices, as well as on PC via Epic Games Store – but expect it to clock in at similar numbers.
Stranger of Paradise is aimed not only at fans of the series but also at those who have never played Final Fantasy games before. Developed by Koei Tecmo's Team Ninja, the upcoming title is a much more action-oriented RPG than everything else in the series. The publisher itself has said Final Fantasy Origin is not a remake or a sequel to the original title but uses the first Final Fantasy as "a motif." Therefore, it could even be the start of the entire Final Fantasy-Verse, paving the way for more experimental games in the future.
