The Sims 4 reveals Island Living expansion and Pride Month partnership

The Sims has announced a partnership with the It Gets Better initiative for Pride Month, which will see special themed items and clothing released for the game.

At EA Play’s event, the company revealed how they’ll be teaming up with the project to support the LGBT+ community, which will bring items to The Sims 4, The Sims Free Play, and The Sims mobile app.

These items include Pride-themed outfits and a gender neutral bathroom door, with the content releasing in The Sims 4 on 18 June, and gradually rolling out to the mobile app and free play at a later date.

During their presentation, they also revealed new expansion pack Island Living which, just like it sounds, sends your sims to a luscious tropical island filled with mermaids and dolphins.

It also marks the first time your sims will be able to venture into, and interact with, water – as characters can ride jet skis, go swimming, or even go snorkelling for tropical fish.

You don’t just have to relax at parties, however, with the update also allowing players to act as a conservationist. Interestingly, how you treat the island affects its condition over time, encouraging you to keep the place clean for a happier Sims life.

If you’re not about treating your Sims well, there’s also a volcano which spits lava bombs into your back garden – so everyone is catered for.

They also announced their next game pack will be titled Realms Of Magic, which will be released in autumn later this year.

The Sims 4: Island Living releases on 21 June on PC, and will come to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 16 July.
