Twitter Replaced By Lawry’s Seasoned Salt Amazon Reviews
If you have any strong opinions on Lawry's Seasoned Salt – specifically in its 16 oz packaging – that you're just dying to share with the rest of us, I have some bad news for you. It appears that Amazon has banned most accounts from reviewing the product… because everyone was treating it like the new Twitter.
No, not Amazon as a whole. Just the review section for Lawry's Seasoned Salt, 16 oz. In some of the most recent reviews, Amazon users tried to get the ball rolling, sharing thoughts usually destined for Twitter on this niche section of the storefront. But our Amazon overlords were having none of it, clamping down on the social media alternative before it could truly begin,
"Whats popping," commented Amazon user Garrett Powell in their review of Lawry's Seasoned Salt, 16 oz.
They were quickly followed up with other Twitter veterans. "I love this new social media," reads one review. "It’s so good that I would spend $8 bucks a month to use it," says another, in reference to Elon Musk's verification subscription plans for Twitter.
This all started because of a tweet from rapper and comedian, Zack Fox, which encouraged users to make the switch to the Lawry's Seasoned Salt, 16 oz comment section. Judging by the replies, it didn't take long for fans to give it a go – and for Amazon to notice what was going on. Just three minutes after Fox made the tweet, someone pointed out that they were blocked from making their own review. Five minutes after that, it seemed that Amazon added a blanket ban to reviewing the product, stating that it had noticed "unusual activity" on the store page.
Alas, it seems we'll have to keep waiting for a true Twitter replacement to rise from the ashes of Elon Musk's dumpster fire. Someone also set up a Google doc to take on the social media giant, but as you can imagine, that got pretty messy.
