Warframe’s Reworked Railjack And Corpus Proxima Has Arrived On PC

As usual, Warframe doesn’t keep us waiting too long when they announce a new mainline update. Update 29.10.0: Corpus Proxima & The New Railjack is here and it brings with it three big deals: the reworked Railjack system, Corpus Railjack missions (Corpus Proxima), and the Zephyr rework.

For the Railjack rework, Digital Extremes admitted that they missed the mark a bit when they decided to bring an exciting space-based combat game mode to Warframe. “Our initial vision to provide a fresh new gameplay experience progressed into being overly complicated with an unnecessarily high barrier to entry,” wrote DE on the Warframe forums, which is a bit of an understatement. Railjack was ludicrously expensive, ludicrously complicated, and didn’t provide enough rewards for all that you put into it.

Worse, it just didn’t feel like Warframe at all. Railjack reloaded fixes all that with a streamlined experience that is cheaper, easier to get into and provides tangible rewards outside of Railjack.

You can read up on the changes in our previous coverage, or you can head on over the Warframe forum for the full rundown on what’s new, what’s gone, and what’s improved.

The most important improvement to Railjack is the new loot. Carmine Penta is an upgraded Penta grenade launcher that used to be only available to Chinese Warframe players, but now you can get parts and the blueprint as rewards for Railjack missions. Ditto the Athodai pistol, which was the reward for attending Tennocon 2020.

There’s also the new Internal Bleeding rifle mod and the Hemorrhage pistol mod, both of which add a 35% chance of proccing slash status whenever an impact status is procced. This could be a huge damage booster for impact-centric weapons like the Kuva Karak.

Ash blueprints, Oberon blueprints, and Arcanes can also be obtained as rewards, depending on the selected missions.

Zephyr gets a rework and a fancy new deluxe skin that makes her look like an old-school fighter pilot got into a teleporter accident with an anime mecha–that is to say, I love it. But not as much as I love the rework, which changes Zephyr’s kit to be both useful and powerful. Again, deets can be found in our previous coverage.

Update 29.10.0 sets the stage for Update 30: Call of the Tempestarii which will introduce Tenno to a brand new villain. No word on when that’ll be coming out, but as always, we won’t have to wait long when we find out.

Actually a collective of 6 hamsters piloting a human-shaped robot, Sean hails from Toronto, Canada. Passionate about gaming from a young age, those hamsters would probably have taken over the world by now if they didn’t vastly prefer playing and writing about video games instead.

The hamsters are so far into their long-con that they’ve managed to acquire a bachelor’s degree from the University of Waterloo and used that to convince the fine editors at TheGamer that they can write “gud werds,” when in reality they just have a very sophisticated spellchecker program installed in the robot’s central processing unit.
