Zelda: Breath Of The Wild VR and Super Mario Odyssey VR are live now
The Zelda option is available from the System menu, and then if you select Options. There’s no separate mode, so you can play the whole game using it if you want, and… it’s surprisingly (there’s that word again) excellent.
The 3D effect is much more pronounced than Super Mario Odyssey and tilting your head up or down moves the camera in and out towards Link, while turning your head rotates it around.
We happened to start our save in Korok Forest – which has the lowest frame rate of anywhere in the game – and it still looked great. We are properly impressed.
Whether other games will also get VR options in the future remains unknown, but it certainly seems possible for upcoming titles in particular.
