Persona 5 Scramble Announced for Switch and PS4
Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, a musou spinoff of the mainline Persona series, has been announced for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
Announced during the Persona Super Live 2019 concert via a brief Japanese trailer, Persona 5 Scramble is being created as a collaboration between Atlus and Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force team, known for its work on the Dynasty Warriors series. According to Persona Central, it’s being labeled as the first action RPG in the Persona series.
While little is known about the game, the trailer clearly shows Persona 5 Scramble as a musou game, where Joker fights against large hordes of enemies all at once. The game currently has no official release date, though an official website has gone live.
Fans have anticipated a Persona 5 game for Nintendo Switch for some time, though this isn’t quite what most expected. Speculation about a potential Switch port of Persona 5 began when Atlus started teasing Persona 5 R and other new projects in December 2018, and Nintendo revealed Joker as the first paid DLC fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
As it turns out, Persona 5 R is Persona 5 Royal, an expanded rerelease of the mainline game coming exclusively to PlayStation 4, and Persona 5 S is this new title for Nintendo Switch and PS4
