Rebellion reveals first trailer for Evil Genius 2 at E3 PC Gaming Show
Fifteen years after the original Evil Genius was released in 2004, Rebellion has finally unveiled the sequel to the cult-classic villain simulator. During the E3 PC Gaming Show on Monday afternoon, the developer showed off the first trailer for Evil Geniuses 2.
Just like the original, it looks like the sequel will cast the player as a villainous super genius intent on taking over the world. You’ll even have all the tools you’ll need like an army of henchman and a base under a volcano. During the game you’ll manage your super villain lair by upgrading parts of your evil arsenal all in preparation for ambitions missions of world domination.
While this is the first real sequel to the original Evil Genius, it isn’t the only time the franchise has appeared since 2004. Back in 2013, a free-to-play mobile version called Evil Genius Online was released. In the original announcement for Evil Genius 2, Rebellion was careful to make sure fans knew that this game would be different from Online, tweeting, “We’d like to make this super-duper clear — this isn’t a remaster. Evil Genius 2 will be a fully-fledged sequel and it won’t be free-to-play.”
The trailer didn’t include a release date, but Evil Genius 2 will be available on Steam when it comes out.
