Bungie shows off Destiny 2’s final blows at Inside Xbox

At the Inside Xbox show for GamesCom 2019, Bungie showed off Finishing Moves in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep — new executions players can perform on low health enemies.

These Finishing Moves are fashion first, with players showing off their class’ unique playstyle. Each player will get their class specific Finishing Move for free. But Bungie previously announced that players can purchase additional Finishing Moves at the Eververse store.

Finishing Moves do look cool, but showing off isn’t the only reason to use them. At GamesCom, Bungie revealed new in-game benefits to executing an enemy. Fans can unlock mods for their armor that impact their Finishing Moves.

At GamesCom 2019, Bungie gave the example of mod that guarantees heavy ammunition each time you use a Finishing Move. But these mods come at a cost. For example the heavy ammo finisher costs half of player’s Super meter to execute. Players will need to make those kinds of decisions mid-game later this fall.

Bungie will release Destiny 2: Shadowkeep and New Light for PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One on Oct. 1. The Google Stadia version of Destiny 2 will come later this year.
