Twitch Prime deal makes Fallout 76, Sims 4, or The Last of Us practically free

A new promotion at Amazon offers a $15 gift card with a $15 purchase of Fallout 76, The Last of Us Remastered, and The Sims 4. It’s a little complicated, but you’re essentially getting a free game — provided you’re planning on buying something at Amazon in the next few months of course.

This new deal brings Fallout 76 on PS4 (usually $17), The Last of Us Remastered on PS4 (usually $17.92), and a PC download of The Sims 4 (usually $39.99) down to $14.99 each for Amazon Prime members. And Twitch Prime members will also get a $15 Amazon credit delivered via email within seven days after purchase.

The selection of games is seemingly random (and folks on Twitter are of course making a bunch of Fallout 76 jokes), but if you’ve been meaning to try out one of these titles, you’re unlikely to find a better deal than full reimbursement. The Sims 4 was briefly available to download for free earlier this year, and has dropped down to $5 a few times since then, but is currently full price both at Amazon and directly from Origin.

As with all deals like this, make sure to take a look at the fine print before purchasing. Only U.S. customers are eligible, you’ll still have to pay taxes on the game, and the credit expires at the end of 2019. It also appears that the offer only applies once, meaning if you buy all three games you’ll get just one $15 credit. We’ve reached out to Amazon for clarification and will update this post accordingly.

Amazon and Twitch have been upping their game lately when it comes to membership perks. Earlier this year Twitch Prime launched a Nintendo Switch Online promotion. And during the lead-up to Amazon Prime Day the company announced a new partnership with Rockstar Games which includes free in-game loot for Red Dead Online and Grand Theft Auto Online.

Twitch Prime membership is free with an Amazon Prime subscription. Amazon offers a free 30-day Prime trial, after that it’s $12.99/month.
