IOS 13: How do you get the new Apple OS?
First things first – At the time of writing, iOS 13 is still in beta, which means that some lucky so and so's will have access.
But, later this autumn, it will roll out to the wider public along with Apple Arcade, allowing pretty much anyone to connect their PS4 or Xbox controller to a iPhone or iPad.
For the time being, read on for our step by step guide so you can learn how to connect a PS4 or Xbox One controller to your iPhone and iPad using iOS 13.
How to connect your PS4 controller to iPhone or iPad:
In order to connect your controller to your iOS device, you will need it to be running iOS 13 (as explained above).
Then all you need to do is open your settings, and press Bluetooth.
Make sure Bluetooth is turned on, then press and hold the PS and share button on your PS4 pad until the light bar starts to flash.
Once it starts flashing it should appear under “Other Devices” in the Bluetooth settings.
Select the controller, and then you should be able to play any game that supports external MFi (Made for iOS) controllers.
How to connect Xbox One controller to iPhone or iPad:
First of all, you need to make sure you have one of the more modern Xbox One controllers that uses Bluetooth. The Xbox Elite controller will also work for anyone wondering.
Like the PS4, you will need an iPhone or iPad with iOS 13. Go to the Settings menu, followed by Bluetooth on your device.
With the controller on, press and hold the connect button on the front of the pad to put it in pairing mode.
Again, it should now appear in the Other Devices section on the phone.
Tap it to pair the phone to the controller. Now you can play all the games you desire.
